Autumn is slowly finding its way through the South. Unfortunately, this season has seen dire consequences due to a certain hurricane.
Despite the devastation, it is heart-warming to see the efforts of people trying to help amidst one of the worst natural disasters in our history, particularly in Appalachia. I had the privilege of attending grade school for a short time in the mountains, and those were some of the best memories of my childhood. The people, for the most part, were kind and generous. Most people did not judge the surface of a person, and they were always willing to help while making you feel accepted. Honestly, Appalachian people are some of the best people you will ever meet.
It is difficult to find the right words for this article, so let's just keep it short. Please pray for the recovery efforts taking place across the southeastern United States, knowing there are good people waiting to be helped, and good people are working hard to help them.
