Three Years and a Hundred Posts Later

Finally! Floramont has reached the 3-Year mark with 100 posts! We are celebrating this milestone by celebrating yet another milestone.

It was about one year ago on a Full Moon night in February. A small shadowy figure was seen walking along the porte-cochère. I exclaimed to myself, "That is the most adorable thing I have ever seen!" Don't worry, I will not include every detail of that night, or the entire past year. Just know that this little kitty cat, named Zellie, no longer has to stalk birds in the garden or tussle with baby snakes. She is happily ensconced within the walls of her home, occasionally pointing out ladybugs and such. She sweetly observes insects rather than pouncing on them, giving us ample time to send the intruders on their way.

Considering that Zellie appeared during Carnival season, it would seem fitting to give her a French-inspired name, although that was not the plan. My husband chose the name out of the sky, it seems, and it just sounded right for her. Much later, I found a French ancestor in my family tree named Françoise Touzelet. Well, when you say that name in French, it sounds like it ends with "ze-lay" which sounds a bit like Zellie. Needless to say, I like to pronounce her name with French flair, which probably has too much emphasis on the final "lay" sound, given my southern accent and all!

Merci ! Thank you for celebrating with us by reading the 100th post on Floramont's 3-Year Anniversary. It has been a lot of fun! If you want to have some fun, too, then adopt a cat from your local animal shelter!
